RISE AND FLY

THOUGHT MY SOUL WOULD RISE AND FLY

For Aint I A Woman show  I shaped the music around a Sounds of Blackness kind of sound for the vocals and band.. this is gonna be quite different!.

Presently in the process of creating music for this show going for a 60's folk/gospel/ protest, Hendrix meets Nina Simone meets Richie Havens meets Motown  kind of thing.. Went thru script song by song and nailed the concepts for each. Done with that! 

Now with several songs done and just a few more to do , feeling good about the process and being ready to roll with the auditions and rehearsals.

Created a dropbox and email already so as i finish the tunes putting them in the music folder and will share from there. Next  Rise&Fly Production Page on FaceBook to post schedules and links.

Worship- We Flow Together

Very interesting dream last night. In the dream I received a much needed insight about the Ministry of Music. This insight was very profound to me. It concerns a feeling of responsibility for directing the flow of worship and that during worship the enemy will often have you to look out at the congregation and zero in on individuals not involved in worship at all but talking, texting, or just zoning out.. When this happens consistently an attitude of I'm going to worship in spite of this, and a feeling of having to carry others, it creates a burden. But in the dream one of my dear brothers came to me and said: "You have been getting tired because you feel you have to carry everyone to a level of worship because of what you have been seeing.. You have been seeing the wrong things., and thats the trick of the enemy. Instead of focusing on those who are not flowing with you...lean into those that are lifting their hearts to God & flowing together with you and elevating worship together, and be strengthened rather than drained of strength." The heart of corporate worship is :"one accord worship" which is accomplished by unified focus.. A particular musical motif and or set of words can unify focus ...when we all flow together no one is burdened with carrying the worship.. we all lift it together and benefit from the response of the Holy Spirit to a unified people focusing hearts, minds, and souls with gratitude, and praise for the love of the Father, the sacrifice of Christ, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. In this we experience a very tangible presence of God and impartation of Revelation, and strength.

Spread the word... I will be doing guitar lessons for beginners at Forsyth Park Monday thru Fridays at Noon (weather permitting)... starting June 20, 2011.. Ages 10 and up..Teens and adults welcome it will be group learning sessions..a great parent child activitiy. Also the songwrting process will be explored. Grab your acoustic Guitar and come on out...
